Law & Order Meets CSI - Fort Lauderdale

So they picked me to be on the juror. I knew it from the start because lawyers from both sides didn’t ask me too many questions. Instead people who got the most questions were all excused. I knew my boss would not understand for me to be out of work for couple of days, but the judge offered to call my boss herself. What can I say when the judge made that offer? “Yes! Your honor. Thank you very much”. That’s abut all I can say.

The case was very interesting to say the least. I guess I can talk about it since the trial is already over. The DA charged the defendant for assault with a deadly weapon, in this case, a gun, and running away from police. But, there was no gun. The cops never found any weapons of any kind. Even the cop admitted that he didn’t see the defendant carrying a gun. He only said the defendant held something and pointed at him but he can’t be sure it was a gun. No physical evidence, not even a circumstantial evidence. The whole thing boiled over because, the defendant’s girl friend’s ‘ex husband told the police the defendant pointed a gun at his face. Uhm, do I think this eyewitness is creditable? Of course not! He had every reason to lie to the police because if the defendant goes to jail, he would get the girl all to himself. The girlfriend who was there during the alleged incident took place told the police she never saw a gun neither….
