The "Big Date"

For a while I have not been writing much on my blog. Mainly due to my laziness. But, that’s not the entire story. I recently went thru the most important phase, a chapter if you will, of my life. I got married!

On January 26th, 2006, I said the word “I do” to the most important woman in my life. Amanda, A.K.A. Mrs. Harley Howie. As you can see, there were a lot of things going on in preparation for this wedding. Even though we did not have a very big and formal wedding. We both kind of decided to proceed with it at the last minute. However, there are still many small details which require a lot of our attention. I don’t know how most couples go thru the big traditional wedding. Can you imagine the planning and preparation the couple has to go thru? I certainly can not. After my own small and private wedding, I don’t think I can do that.

Even thought our wedding was small and private, but it was warm and cozy. We originally planned on obtain the wedding license and get married by the Justice of Peace in City Hall. Then, we thought it does not feel right without Amanda’s mom being there. Also, her sister and niece, who live in the Bay area, also wished to be there for us. I figured since most of Amanda’s family will be here, we can not have them to see us getting married at City Hall anymore. That would not be right. Then I found a small wedding chapel not too far from our home. It’s not Vegas but it’s got certain charm to it. After getting the “OKAY” from Mrs. Harley Howie, we set the date and now we are husband and wife!
